| Festival Of Short Digital Films |
|
| 26thJan - 5th Feb 2005 |
|
Cinema indeed started with short films more than a hundred year ago. Short films – a means of artistic expression – are quite different from the commercial cinema. This genre of film is used to express various feelings and thoughts of the maker and offer a range of self generated drama, documentary and educational audio visual material. |
| |
Marwah Films & Video Productions – a production house attached to University of Media Arts – has been helping young film and television professionals to develop skills in their chosen filed of creative work as well as in the production of films. Nearly 1000 short films of the young professionals hailing from 48 countries across the glove have been produced since 1993. Many of these films have already been offered to various festivals of films including Cannes Film Festival (France) Philadelphia Film Festival (USA) Seoul Film Festival (South Korea), Digidance Digital Cinema Festival (USA) and Hollywood International Student Film Festival (USA). Well made such short films are routinely offered to cable and satellite television channels for telecasting from time to time. |
| |
We are proud to host a festival of selected short digital films from the 28th January to 5th February 2005 to showcase the canvas of creative expression of the trained and talented fresh entrants to the film and television industries. We seek on their behalf, the good wishes and blessings of veteran media professionals, intellectuals and public figures. We hope and trust that makers of these short films will some day create masterpieces of big films. |
